Different from pastoral counseling, this master's program is designed for Christian men and women called specifically to the field of vocational and clinical counseling. Whether you picture yourself serving in the private sector, working for a state agency or the local church, we recognize the challenges you will face in these varied settings, which is why our distinguished counseling track offers you biblical training that is integrated into traditional coursework in the behavioral sciences.

By integrating theology with a regular master's coursework, you will develop a broader understanding of counseling from both a worldview and a biblical perspective. We recognize that such an integrated approach to counseling training is rare, as are the faculty who model and demonstrate their faith inside the classroom through every discussion and conversation.

Further, the MA-MFT program meets the educational requirements for licensure by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences. Both dual-track programs prepare individuals for membership in the American Association of Pastoral Counselors.
