Western Seminary's M.A. in Intercultural Studies
provides you with high caliber cross-cultural ministry training
coupled with solid Bible and theological studies. This program is
designed to equip you with the understanding and skills necessary
to effectively reach into different cultures, be it here in the
U.S. or abroad, with the gospel of Jesus Christ. To this end, we
offer three strategic pathways to those entering a life of cross-cultural
service.
One track leads you to a deeper understanding
of the impact of culture in ministry and communication. Another
prepares you for TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages)
ministry. A third track focuses on at risk children and youth. No
matter which path you take, they all lead to the same heart and
vision of Matthew 28. Whether your future involves bi-vocational
ministry or being a professional within an intercultural context,
this degree promises to enhance your ability to bring the Good News
to the ends of the earth.
In addition, students will receive first-hand
knowledge from some of the best instructors on the subject of missions.
They not only are experts in the field of missiology, they are seasoned
missionaries brimming with years of practical field experience for
your development. If your goal aligns with ours - strong, Christ-centered,
cross-cultural ministry - this program will equip you to engage
your calling with truth, skill, and passion.
