This master's program is designed for Christian men and women called specifically to the field of vocational and clinical counseling. Whether you picture yourself serving in the private sector, working for a state agency or the local church, we recognize the challenges you will face in these varied settings, which is why our distinguished counseling track offers you biblical training that is integrated into traditional coursework in the behavioral sciences.

By integrating theology with regular master's coursework, you will develop a broader understanding of counseling from both a clinical worldview and a biblical perspective. We recognize that such an integrated approach to counseling training is rare, as are the faculty who model and demonstrate their faith inside the classroom through every discussion and conversation.

And because we value real world experience, our Counseling Program places great emphasis on internship training. While most other programs require only 2 semesters of internship, Western's program requires 5 semesters, maximizing your hands-on education under the supervision of professionals. On average you will find our students exceed the state requirements for internship by 60%. This enhances your learning experience while giving you a breadth of experience unmatched in other MA programs in the Northwest which we believe positions our graduates well for the competitive world of employment.
