    Distance Learning

WSCLL employs an advanced learning system that integrates world-class instruction, superior delivery and interactional resources, and personal service and support to provide each student with a rich and engaging learning experience. Our courses are carefully crafted by a team of experienced distance educators that includes the teaching faculty, an instructional designer, and a technology specialist. Together they ask and answer critical questions:

• Will the course achieve the intended learning outcomes?

• Have we avoided technological roadblocks that could hinder a student's success?

• Are we making optimal use of existing technologies and media?

• Is the course relational? Are there opportunities to meet and interact with other students as well as with course faculty and key support personnel?

• Will the student benefit from his or her ministry context? Is this course truly "integrated to service?"

• Will the course challenge and engage the student without becoming overwhelming?

• Does the course benefit fully from the unique strengths of distance education?

Only when the entire team answers "Yes!" to these questions will a completed course be opened for testing and enrollment. Then, for the life of the course we aggressively seek student feedback, carefully review their responses, and make changes as necessary to ensure and promote the strongest distance education curriculum possible. At Western Seminary, no course grows old - just better.
