The Doctor of Ministry is an advanced degree designed to enhance your ministry, expand your imagination for ministry, and deepen your spiritual commitment. The aim is that you might be equipped to lead the church effectively into the future, fulfilling the biblical mandate to be shepherd leaders.

In an age marked by uncritical pragmatism, the church desperately needs leaders who skillfully and faithfully apply classic pastoral wisdom to contemporary challenges. Western Seminary's D.Min. program is committed to this task. In addition, we have teamed up with the Doctor of Missiology program to offer courses that prepare pastors to engage in a shifting world of radical migration and urbanization. In our course design, a student must complete eight courses. Two of the eight are required courses designed to prepare a student to do research, as well as to come to grips with theological foundations for ministry. The remaining six courses are electives, allowing students to design the curriculum around their ministry needs.
