An Introduction to Coaching (MCS 510) is the prerequisite to all other coaching electives
offered at Western Seminary.

Course description: This course provides students with a basic foundation for understanding and practicing coaching. Topics covered include: core coaching skills, coaching conversation model, the biblical basis for coaching, and how the student can use coaching in his or her ministries or workplace. 1 hour.  This course meets the qualifications for 15 hours of continuing education credit for MFTs and/or LCSWs as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences. Western Seminary PCE # 3044.

Whether you take this course or our other coaching courses for audit or credit, they are recognized by the International Coach Federation (ICF) if you want to become a certified coach through the ICF in the future.

All classes are held from 8:30 am-4:30 pm and located at our San Jose campus, unless noted.
